1st October 2005 Windsurfing: Borth Wind Direction: nw Wind Stength: f5 Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered: Arrived lateish friday night & had a good sleep in the van only waking once due to it rocking from the wind!! Impi, Steve then Al hit the water first whilst i had a cuppa & some breakfast & took my time for once, the wind was around 25knts so opted for 5.0 & small wave board. The conditions were really good, not diffucult to get out the back & once out the back plenty of bigish swell about,the wind was cross on,& plenty off it making it easy to stay upwind. The waves at times were well over logo high & dropping in on them was great fun. Once the demo guys turned up it started to get busy & there was quite a few good sailers out performing nice tricks,Dave White was going fast, on one run back in backside riding on a big wave i looked over my shoulder to see Mr White Homing in me, he was about 3/4's up the wave & got catapulted round the front & skidded down the face on his back & it broke over him & kit,giving him a rinsing, it looked ace from where i was!!! I sailed from 9 till 4.30 & didnt bother trying any demo kit although lots of people did, especially 1 person every time i saw him he was on differnt kit,fair play, there was never really far to walk back up the beach which was good. all in all an excellnt day, only wish i was fully fit as bruised ribs dont help much!!! |
